Every part of my life is about creating. Art and fashion have been the two things I have loved since I was a little girl. When I was little, I always insisted on choosing my outfit, although the result may have been questionable at times, it was my favorite part of the day. Experimenting with textures and fabrics before I even knew what the words meant. I always loved making things, clothes especially. I would get an idea in my head and I would make it happen with whatever I could find, even before I could be trusted with sewing needles. The first picture is me in one of the first dresses I made. I used the fabric from one of my moms pillow cases (Sorry Mom). Not long after I was deemed responsible enough to use a sewing machine, and quickly learned. I haven’t stopped creating since then. The second picture is me receiving my college degree, in a dress I also designed and made myself. I studied art all throughout high school and continued to pursue it after graduating. My knowledge in art greatly helps with my love of fashion because it has led me to better understand textures, fabrics, colors, as well as allowing me to accurately depict my ideas onto paper through my sketches. I recently started pursuing music as a composer and learning to create music has only made me a better artist. It has strengthened my creativity in ways I never would have predicted and given me a new perspective on the art world.
